Ballyshannon returned to winning ways with a comprehensive victory against Omagh with a seven try blitz against the Tyrone side. Despite a significant injury list ”Shannon” were still too strong and the Omagh side could not contain their fast running rugby.
Mark ”Nuggets” Lyons made his first appearance and deputised for the injured Tom Dillon and opened the scoring with a well worked try, Ballyshannon went into half time at 20 -5 with further scores coming from Ray Gallagher and centre Anthony Boyle who also accounted for five conversions and a penalty along with a further second half try to give him a final personal tally of 23 points.

In the second period Ballyshannon cut loose with some fabulous open rugby, the forwards were producing good ball through the front row of Cassidy, Hoey and Killalea and were ably assisted by the second row of Richard Gallagher and Darren Gillespie who were very impressive as they drove hard time and again into the Omagh defence. Omagh added their second try when off a quick penalty the ball was taken on at lightening speed and the home side could just not stop.
Further second half tries came through scrum half Paul Connolly who is really finding his feet at no. 9 and another newbie Damian Cleary scored a fantastic individual score with a breathtaking run. Full back Daire Keown also scored again after a great run and had a great game along with his wingers Cleary and Bundoran man Richard Gillespie who also was making his long awaited return after injury, time and again as Omagh kicked deep into the Ballyshannon defence it was returned with great interest as the back three countered brilliantly with great running and made great ground each time.
Finally the back row of Tyrell, Dominic Gillespie and Kealan Mc Nulty hassled and harried all day and thwarted many attacks and helped produced the clean ball for the back line all day. Final score 48-10!
