This was a strange game to say the least. Lansdowne looked a classy outfit in the first half, playing conditions they opened up a healthy 21-point gap by halftime. Ballymena 2s 13 – Ballynahinch 2s 15
The top two in the 2nd XV league met at Eaton Park on Saturday with both sides boasting undefeated records so far this season, in the same fixture last year Ballymena handed out the 2nd’s biggest defeat of the year and the side knew that they would have to be at their best to get a result. Threes Triumph In Crawford Cup
A cold sunny day greeted the Crawford Cup Finalists at Ravenhill, with Ballynahinch having the kick-off, playing towards the Aquinas end and making their mark from the start with some excellent first hits. The pressure continued from Ballynahinch, forcing Coleraine to infringe in the Hinch 22. The subsequent penalty lead to a Hinch line out that was easily won and the maul worked well into the Coleraine 22, allowing Hinch to release their backs on the attack with John Gunson supporting and crashing over the line on 4 mins, but some sturdy Coleraine defence held the ball up and the try was disallowed…. for the full story CLICK HERE
Ballyclare 3s 3 – Ballynahinch 5s 15
After a free week Ballynahinch 5th XV returned to action against Ballyclare 3rd XV who were currently sitting above Ballynahinch in the league. The 5’s were in confident form after good wins in their last two games, and looking forward to the game.

Ballynahinch 6s 8 – UUC 3s 5
After a nightmare month of cancellations and with just one game under their belt this season the Sixes finally got a game of rugby, returning to the ‘pitch across the road’ for the first time in almost a year. With such a long lay off there was a serious risk of the side haemorrhaging with players moving up the club, giving up before they had started or moving elsewhere to get a game. Thankfully this was not the case and the bulk of last years squad were available to play. The only significant change came at half back with Andrew Walker coming in to scrum half after a season away from rugby and Stevie Dowery making a welcome return after just two run outs last year…….
