Aaron Ferris crossed for the first of nine tries against Bruff

Ballynahinch kept their league title ambitions on track with another bonus point win away from home.

On a crisp spring afternoon the Hinch started this contest in fine style, playing up the slope the backs moved the ball with great pace, Roger McBurney cutting through a gap to put James Thompson clear. Thompson made good ground before sending the ball wide to Aaron Ferris who opened the scoring with just 2 minutes played. Lawton was wide with his conversion attempt leaving Hinch 0-5 clear.
The visitors kept the pressure on the home side and in the 10th minute flanker David McGuigan intercepted from just inside the Hinch half and raced clear to score for the County Down men. Michael Lawton adding the extras for a 12-point advantage.
As the clock passed the 20th minute mark strong running from Hinch centre Stuart Morrow found him on an overlap and he ran in the third Hinch try which was converted by Lawton taking Hinch 19 points clear.
Bruff centre Frank Cahill had a penalty attempt in the 23rd minute but his attempt drifted wide of the posts.
By the 29th minute mark Hinch had their bonus point in the bag, centre James Thompson racing clear to cross the whitewash with Lawton converting for a tally of 26 points…….. CLICK HERE for the full story.
