Ballymoney RFC Notes: I XV 10 v Clogher Valley RFC I XV 6, II XV 64 v Clogher Valley RFC II XV & III XV 74 v Lisburn RFC III XV

Ballymoney 1st XV maintained their unbeaten run in the league with a 6-10 win away to last seasons champions Clougher Valley. Cormac McCartney scored all 10points after a penalty and then converted his own try which he scored under the posts after supporting a 30metre break from number 8 John Richmond.

Ballymoney 2nd XV also won in Clougher Valley and made it 3wins from 4 games with a convincing 64-0 win. Centre Darren Smyth scored a Hatrick of trys while Thomas Knight touched down his first try for the 2nd XV after moving from U19 last season. Other try scorers were Matthew Blair, Neal Mullholland, Jonny Linton, Sandy McAuley and Lewis Murphy.

The 3rd XV were the only home side last Saturday and put on a show for the supporters, beating Lisburn 3’s 74-15. This time Neal Campbell was the hatrick hero but Matthew Dunlop also scored a brace of trys and added 7 conversions to his total points. The other scorers were Alfie Clyde, Dean Tallbot, Philip Doherty, Ryan Moore, Andy McNaugher, Richard Gault and William McIlvenna.

The 4th XV lost away to a strong Newry team 15-8. Timmy Hanna scored the try and Chris McIlmoyle’s boot added a penalty.

The 5th XV game against in Co Donegal was re-arragned for another date due to the GAA AIL Final.

The Power NI U19 Recorded a win in their first game of the season as they defeated Ballymena U19 19 – 12 at Kilraughts road.
