Approaching half time playing with a very strong breeze, Ballymena led by nine points, all from the boot of Luke Marshall, Davy Patton’s Man of the Match.
That didn’t seem enough and even the addition of five points through a Warwick try to make it fourteen points, looked too small a lead to defend in the second half. However, a first class defensive performance kept Old Crescent out for the entire game and some brilliant running from the backs created three second half tries, to give the home side a bonus point for the second week in a row. Final score 31-3
