Our main sponsor of the Festival is Montgomerys Foodhall, a new and exciting venture that is opening in April at Montgomerys in Ballymena. Richard and Tim Montgomery organised a meet n greet session with Ian Humphreys at their premises to officially launch the Festival. Ian the Ulster #10 came along and met with some of the young players from the club’s under tens group and signed shirts, chatted and posed for photos with the boys. Ian also has family ties at the club and has a young nephew playing in our Mini Section.

Richard and Tim have a long association with the Rugby club and were keen to get involved with this annual prestigious event which brings around 900 young players and coaches together. Richard who is both a Director at the club and member of Ballymena’s senior squad commented, “ My 3 brothers and I started out playing Rugby at the Mini Section of Ballymena Rugby club and are delighted to be involved with the Festival. It is raising the profile of Ballymena RFC and the town itself and providing opportunities for young players to showcase their talents. The values and ethos promoted by the club and the large numbers of young players taking up rugby at Eaton Park are essential to maintaining the viability of the sport at club level and in the long term.”
Teams this year are attending from Ballymena, Ballymoney, Ballyclare, Coleraine, Lisburn, Lurgan, CIYMS and Tyldesley in Manchester.
Scott Muir Mini Convener for Ballymena Rugby club also commented “We have been very fortunate this year in attracting a large number of sponsors and would like to thank Montgomerys Foodhall, Michelin, McKillop’s Spar Fry’s Road, Ballygowan Water, Walkers Crisps, Dale Farm, Almac Aviation, DE photography and Crash for their support. Without the support of our sponsors we would be unable to host such a large, successful and well regarded Festival.”
If you have a couple of spare hours and like fast, fun and exciting Rugby then come on out to Eaton Park and join us.
