Having conceded eight points in the first ten minutes of this UCL game at Stevenson Park, Ballymena seemed to be facing an uphill struggle against Dungannon. But a purple patch brought them three converted tries and a 21-8 lead, which was reduced to 21-13 by a Dungannon try just before half time. The second half was dominated by Dungannon who were holding a 27-21 lead into the sixth minute of injury time, when a break by Connor Smyth was carried on by scrum half Scott Gibson who scored far out to leave Ballymena still one point in arrears. His conversion from the touchline was succsessful and gave Ballymena a win that for large parts of the game seemed unlikely. Final score 28-27
