Torrential rain had left the Ards pitch covered in large pools of water, but all credit to the Ards club for allowing the game to proceed, giving players on both sides a valuable run out before important AIL games next week. Any kind of constructive rugby was virtually impossible, although Ballymena’s second try came after a break down the left wing by Jordan Foster who linked up with Callum Patterson for the try, which he converted. The first try was a forward drive, with Mark Irving being credited with the touch down. All that excitement took place in the first half, and in the deteriorating conditions the second half remained scoreless. Dungannon away in the AIL is next on the agenda.
