CLARE MAINTAIN MOMENTUM IN FERMANAGH
Ballyclare made the trip to Mullaghameen to play Enniskillen in good conditions and by virtue of a poweful first half with great running rugby score five tries to not only win the game but also to get another bonus point. The first chance was a penalty but Smith was just wide as the back line threatened the home 22 regularly. Then on 25 minutes a surge started by Weatherup and Logan was taken on by Morrow and finished off with a try from Coburn with Smith converting. Five minutes later a joint move from backs and forwards saw the ball moved left and Weatherup was in for the try not converted. In another five minutes a run by D.Lawtrher took play deep into the home 22 and from the ensuing scrum Coburn picked up to put Morrow in for a third try with Smith adding the points to lead 19-0.Then a strong run from the returning Loughlin was taken on by Weatherup and R.Boyd for the veteran Logan to nip in for the fourth try and Smith knocked over the conversion. ballyclare were not finished a dominating show as Crawford made a break towards the line and Morrow was up to get his second score so it was 31-0 at half time.
All credit to the Skins who worked hard to counterin the second half but it was the visitors who made the early running as Coburn surged to the line and N.Lawther who had tormented the Skins all day got over with Smith converting to go 38-0 up.The resilience of a game Skins pack led to atry for centre O`Callaghan but Ballyclare should have added another when Smith was held up on the home line.Late on a try from the youthful home number eight Gormley made the final score 38-10 and the win gives the Clare ten from ten and still top of the table..
