Club Message. It is with deep regret and sadness that I report the passing of a great gentleman and founder member of Ballyclare RFC, Mr Jackie Coulter “Ole Han”. Jackie passed away last night peacefully. A minutes silence will be held before all games tomorrow as a mark of respect. On behalf of all at Ballyclare may I pass on our heart felt sympathies and condolences to his family and wider circle. A great man who will be solely missed and always remembered, Thank you “Ole Han”. Funeral arrangements are as follows: 1st Ballyclare Presbyterian church on Monday 29/10/12 at 11 am, Peter Kirk.
The club expresses exactly the same sadness at the loss of Davy Houston & Dessi Kane also this week.
Below is the song Jackie wrote for his rugby club:
FROM DOAGH TO BALLYCLARE
By W. J. Coulter (Oul Han)
My name is Pat McGinty, I own an Irish jaunting car,
And manys the mile in the good old style, I go both near and far,
I crack my whip and doff my cap and drive away all care,
And rattle along with mirth and song from Doagh to Ballyclare.
Sure the fare is only nine pence and if you want to see,
The comic side of country life, then come along with me,
I’ll treat you all both big and small to Irish whisky rare,
For on my car I carry a jar from Doagh to Ballyclare.

To the country fairs and market, to them I always ply,
It would do you good to see the girls around me jump with joy,
Saying, Paddy dear my darling, if you had a seat to spare,
We’ll go for another jaunt from Doagh to Ballyclare.
And if your playing in our town and have some time to spare,
Call into Clareview House my boys, you’ll find a welcome there,
And if your right and decent, we’ll let you see our hare,
It’s the emblem of our Rugby Club from the town of Ballyclare.
