Aviva Premiership Rugby round-up: Round 14

Harlequins slipped back to sixth in the Aviva Premiership Rugby table following a 42-10 defeat at the Ricoh Arena and director of rugby Conor O’Shea admitted in-form Wasps were simply unstoppable.

Wasps had recorded away wins at Saracens and Bath Rugby in the previous two rounds and, with the home support behind them, ran in six tries to pick up maximum points.

Luke Wallace and Charlie Walker crossed over for the visitors but they were overrun in Coventry and O’Shea believes a few errors cost his side in a big way.

“I have to say, I thought Wasps were outstanding,” he said. “Sometimes you lose some games and we’re very proud people and don’t like being on the end of big loss.

“We lost a lot of collisions and we won a fair few too but the ones we lost cost us a heck of a lot more and they have a lot of bullets to fire at you.

“They are in a rich vein of form, but we will dust ourselves down and there was no doubting the work ethic going in from our players there.”
