“I don’t consider myself an artist, I never set out to paint or create something. I often find inspiration strikes while I am out on the back roads of Rhynie, walking Meg (my spaniel). Something will grab my attention and I step into a different way of thinking. I can ‘feel’ what the subject would be like to recreate in paint or clay. I create it in my head over and over for a few days or even weeks, then sit down and commit it to canvas or clay. My favourite medium to work in is watercolour for nature. I prefer acrylics for abstract work.”
