This was acheived as Armoy took the game by the scruff of the neck from the start and kept City of Derry penned into their own half for the opening 15 minutes. Armoy’s first try came courtesy of some quick ruck ball fed out to the back line who moved the ball through the hands the ball ending up with wing forward Jarvis Traynor crashing over the line. His resultant conversion was wide of the mark. From the kick of Armoy again piled on the pressure and were awarded a penalty some 40 meters out.

Traynor insisted on making amends for his two missed conversions and slotted the ball over with ease. Armoy’s next score came virtue of some great individual skill from out half Barry Kelly. From a scrum about 30 meters out he recieved quick possesion and danced around 2 would be tacklers to have a clear run under the posts for a try. Traynor slotted over his easiest kick of the day. From the kick of in the second half CoD decided to take the game to Armoy who seemed to half switched off at half time. The CoD forward began to rumble up the park with a series of good rucks only to be let down by their backs when camped on the Armoy 22. from a wayward pass Barry Kelly hacked the ball forward and along with Armoy wing gave chase into the CoD half. The ball was collected by Bartlett who ran under the posts for an easy score. This was more than Armoy deserved but were grateful none the less. Conversion succesfull from Traynor.
CoD seemed agreived that there hard work had gone unrewarded but stuck to the task and finally their efforts paid off when after some good play they breached the Armoy defence to score a well worked try in the corner. Conversion unsuccesful. From the off they once again put pressure on Armoy and were well worthy of another try this time by way of some good work by their centre who resembled a brick out house. More good play from CoD kept Armoy in their own 22 and a mystery infringement lead to CoD receiving a penalty 8 meters from the Armoy goal line. With Armoy still in bewilderment of the penalty award the CoD wing froward crashed over for their third try after a good dummy penalty move. conversion unsucessful.
From the kick off Armoy finally decided to show up in the second half and resorted to playing as they had in the first half. Again they were awarded a penalty for off-side in front of the posts, which was converted by Traynor.
After a spell of even contention by both sides Armoy had the final say of the match. Some good forward plat lead to the ball again being moved through the hand down the back line out to winger Richard Bartlett who like Barry Kelly earlier danced through 2 would be tacklers for an easy score under the posts. This was converted by Padraig Kerr and was the last kick of the match.
