Plans for new season
2013 – 14 season starting to take shape.
In the forthcoming weeks the shape of the new season will be known, fixtures are starting to be announced and Ards will kick off their season in the Ulster Senior League with a home game against Rainey on Sat 31st August at 2:30pm.

Dates have been set aside for the All Ireland League but to date the fixtures have not been confirmed.

Coaches and managers of the Senior Teams will be liaising with Fixture Secretary Harry Thompson to organise their fixtures.

The management team are in the process of organising pre season friendlies; already confirmed is a home friendly against CIYMS on Fri 23rd August at 7:30pm and Ian Presho will be taking a squad of players to the Ophir Tournament on Sat 17th August.

Full fixtures will be placed on the club website as they are confirmed.

Club Refurbishment

Don’t just watch and say the club’s looking well………lend a hand!!!
Players and members will be aware of some refurbishment going on around the clubhouse and grounds.

This work is done by club members and volunteers, currently the ladies toilets and the kitchen have been refurbished.

Work is ongoing in the changing rooms and the lounge.

Ards RFC and Newtownards & District Canine Club host Charity Dog Show in aid of National Autistic Society (Ards Branch)

Ards Rugby Club in conjunction with Newtownards & District Canine Club hosted their annual charity dog show at Hamilton Park on Sunday; the chosen charity this year was the National Autistic Society (Newtownards Branch) and the show was sponsored by ‘Happy Dog’ Pet Foods.

Approximately 250 dogs took part in the show and Ards RFC President John Barclay and Best in Show Judge Mrs Racheal Rainey presented Judy Tempest with Tibetan Terrier Sumanshu Victoria Plum for Mikudi with the Best in Show Award.

The 90 kids from Ards area attending the Ulster Branch Centra Summer Rugby Camps were overjoyed when Ireland and Ulster Centre Darren Cave and Ulster hooker Nial Annett visited Hamilton Park on Wednesday.
