The Mini section held their Annual Festival at Hamilton Park on Sunday and attracted over 650 players at all levels.
In all, well over a thousand people, including many local residents descended on Hamilton Park, and everyone was well catered for. This was a huge undertaking and special thanks must go to Ian Caughey, for co-ordinating the whole event.
Ian couldn’t have done it on his own of course, so even more thanks are extended to everyone who helped, marking out pitches, staffing the various counters, car parking, coaches, refs, mums and dads, sponsors, Newtownards Neighbourhood Police and a host of other folk who helped make the day run so smoothly.
As well as Ards, teams were drawn from Barnhall, Donaghadee, Holywood, Malone, CIYMS, Cooke and Academy Mini sections.
Everyone had a great day with all the rugby and the many other attractions, so take a bow Mini section, you did a fantastic job.
The end of season Mini Rugby party will be held at the Club on Sunday May 2nd from 2pm. During the party a ‘friendly’ game of Tag rugby will be played between the coaches and parents. Should be interesting.
