Randalstown Rugby Club are delighted to be associated with Power NI for the 2011-12 season. The first major event of the year is the Power NI- Randalstown Annual 15 a side Tournament, the traditional warm up for the season ahead.
Kick Off 1.00 pm sharp
Last years winners Carrick are absent this season but we are delighted to welcome back Larne RFC after a few years’ absence and new participants L’ Derry YM and Cookstown. More familiar combatants on the day include Ophir, Lurgan, Ballymena, Grosvenor, Holywood and Civil Service.
At this stage preparations are more or less finalised and hopefully the weather gods will be kind so that everyone can come along and enjoy a fine afternoon and evenings entertainment.
The Paul Dean band will be on stage in the evening and doors will open for this at 8.30 pm.
The Senior squad were in action for a practice match on Saturday afternoon and looked fresh and ready for some competitive action. Club Captain Neil Foster was delighted with the effort put in by the players and it was a close fought encounter. There was a fair sprinkling of spectators as the U19s were hosting a tournament at the same time. The excellent condition of the Neillsbrook pitches was commented on by more than one onlooker and they are indeed looking splendid thanks to the hard work in the close season by the dedicated ground staff who give so freely of their time.
As usual there will be refreshments available in the clubhouse and the bbq will be up and running from the kick off.
Randalstown RFC look forward to renewing acquaintances for the 2011-12 season and invite everyone to come along and enjoy the afternoon.
The draw has been made and teams will compete initially within the sections with the eventual winners and runners up going on to contest the semi-finals and finals.
