AER Lingus picked up the ‘Best Airline to Europe ex. Belfast’ Award again, for the third time in a row. The accolade was collected at the Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards 2012, held at the Slieve Donard Resort and Spa, last Friday.

More than 400 VIPs and decision-makers from the industry both north and south attended the 21st Northern Ireland Travel and Tourism Awards gala, hosted by TV personality Roy Walker.

Commercial Manager of Aer Lingus in Northern Ireland, Valerie Abbott said: “We are delighted that our service to Europe has yet again been recognised as top class. We’ve been in Belfast for almost five years now. Receiving this recognition for the third year in a row is testament that our service and fares are a winning combination with our customers.”

“We have had a very exciting year, which will culminate in our move to George Best Belfast City Airport next Sunday, 28th October 2012. Our winter schedule for 2012 targets two key routes for business, leisure and transfer traffic, in and out of London Heathrow and London Gatwick. There will be three flights daily to each airport in each direction.
“Our summer schedule, which begins from the end of March 2013, will operate daily flights to Malaga and Faro, in addition to our London offering. We will continue to offer customers what they have become accustomed to travelling with Aer Lingus and that’s our award winning service and great value fares.
“The people of Northern Ireland have supported Aer Lingus from our initial launch here nearly five years ago. We value that support and believe moving to Belfast City airport at this time cements our continued commitment to the market and our customers.

“We are dedicated to delivering value for our customers. The feedback from the Northern Ireland public indicates that things like seat allocation, advanced selection, flying into centrally located airports and of course the great care they get from our professional and friendly staff, continues to make them feel very much valued.

“We expect passenger numbers to grow because of the move and look forward to serving our valued business and leisure travellers from our new base,” she added.
