Omagh opened up their Junior Cup campaign with a fine 32-10 win at home to long established Section One side Ballymoney in excellent conditions at Thomas Mellon Playing Fields.
“It was a tough opening 20 minutes, but we settled down, got our scrum working and got the scores we deserved” commented Omagh captain, Mark Smyth after the game.
“ We had a few out today but credit to the lads that came in, they all went well and will be pushing for their places next week”, he said, but was non-committal when pressed on who his side would like to meet in the next round. “There are no easy games the further you go in a competition. A good cup run is always very welcome, but all I can hope for is a home draw”.
