Panthers Under 15s awarded Ulster Rugby’s Fair Play Trophy
Portadown Panthers Under 15 squad were awarded the Wooden Spoon Fair Play following Saturday’s successful & enjoyable Ulster Rugby Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby Festival which was held at the home of Belfast Harlequins RFC.
The young Panthers’ squad with an age range between 10 and 14 were outstanding throughout the Festival & remained unbeaten in their matches against Stevenson Sharks,Ballymena Bears. Newforge Taggers & Killard Cougars.
This will give the squad great confidence for their next outing which will be at the home of Telford Hornets RFC (Shropshire) where they will be one of Ulster’s representatives at the International Wooden Spoon Tag Rugby Festival for people with Learning Disabilities.
Portadown Panthers will also be taking an Over 15s team to the Festival which will be held on 6th June.
These two teams along with coaches, volunteers and parents will represent the Panthers on their first ever cross channel Tour. A party of 51 will travel to Shropshire departing on Friday 5 June & returning on Sunday 7 June.
The Under 15 squad who were awarded the Cup & who will play in the International Tag Festival: Reece Massey; Joel Gordon, Kevin Phun, Matthew Robinson;, Murray Gilmour & Chris Sherwin.
Over 15 Squad for the International Tag Festival: Andrew Dempsey, Andre Dourado, Craig Malcolmson, Daniel Crowe, Ga Wai Phun,Stefan Mc Grath, Philip Patton, Robert Crory & Mark Ellison.
