Rugby fans convert cash to points
Gloucester Rugby Club has teamed up with payment specialist allpay to introduce a cashless payment system at its stadium, reducing queueing time and improving customer service for club members.
The club has been looking to implement a system for some time to allow Club Members and 1873 Club Members to make cashless payments at the bars in Kingsholm, therefore spending less time queuing at the bar and more time watching rugby and chatting with friends.
allpay, who have been a valued shirt sponsor with Gloucester Rugby for several seasons, came up with a solution which enables Club Members to purchase points online and via their phones which can then be used to pay for food and drinks at any of the stadium’s bars – eliminating the need to carry cash.
Members can also boost their points balance with bonus point offers. Points can be collected throughout the season and redeemed in full or part payment for 2015/16 Club Membership packages too.
Members can buy points at anytime, by going online at www.allpayments.net or by downloading the allpay Payment App, which is free and available to use on iOS, Android and Windows phones.
First rolled out for the club’s pre-season friendlies, the cashless payment option is another step forward for the club explained Gloucester Rugby CEO Stephen Vaughan.
“As a club, we’re continually striving to improve the customer experience at Kingsholm, and this was an initiative that we were looking to introduce and having experts in the field such as allpay as a long term partner made this a seamless exercise.”
allpay Managing Director Tony Killeen said: “allpay is all about streamlining and improving the payment experience, so we’re delighted to have implemented a cashless solution for Gloucester Rugby Club. Building on our considerable experience in cashless payments for schools, local authorities and the wider public sector, we believe cashless payments at stadiums not only reduces the costs and administration for stadium staff but improves customer experience for fans and club members.”
