Earlier in the week Ulster rugby fans took to the pitch at Ravenhill with shovels and trailers and lots of helping hands to clear several inches of snow off the completely frozen ground at Ravenhill

This was the scene from last week until wednesday of this week.

A big thank you goes out to all these supporters who having a few hours on Tuesday morning worked to clear the snow of the pitch and dead ball area.

Then on Wednesday the heavy duty squad arived and began to assemble the blow heaters and cover the pitch in sheets of tarpaulin knitted together and staked around the pitch so that 6 heaters could blow hot air onto the pitch causing the tarpaulins to lift like a balloon and thereby have warm air flowing over every part of the pitch.

Lorrys, forklifts, generators, 6 industrial size blow heaters and two – three days later the plan is to have the ground ready to play either Friday night or Saturday morning.

We went on Ravenhill today to see the work in progress and managed to get the following pictures, below todays pictures is another chance to see the pictures from saturday and video footage of a supporter getting covered in snow, enjoy!

Looks like the game is going ahead – well done to Ravenhill and everyone involved.
