VIRGINIA RFC – Virginia RFC Host Under 18’s & Under 15’s Girls Blitz
On Sunday 12th October Virginia RFC played host to the second Ulster Regional Girls Blitz of the 2014/15 season.
The day was a great success with six clubs from all over Ulster present in Deerpark to compete at U15 and U18 level, once again providing a great demonstration of female rugby at a very high standard.
In the U15 section Virginia emerged the overal winners of their group, winning both of their matches with a final score line of 31 – 5 in their first game and 19 – 0 in their favour in the second .
In the U18 section Virginia won their first game with ease with a score of 33 – 0 in their favour against Malone RFC/Belfast Harlequins. Their second game was a draw with a nil all scoreline against Armagh/Enniskillen. The third game seen Armagh/Enniskillen beat Malone/Harlequins 15 – 0. The finale for the Under 18’s blitz was an encounter between the Virginia side and the Ulster Regional Development Squad,. The Virginia under 18 girls fought hard but the RDS side emerged the winners 19 – 0 after what can definitely be described as a bruising encounter. Well done Virginia girls.
Thank you to all the teams involved and wishing them all good luck for the rest of the season.
