Headguards in rugby would add to the concussion problem, not solve it, says doctor

The rate of injury – and especially concussion – in professional rugby is a growing concern, but the worst thing the game could do is to encourage players to wear more protective equipment, especially headguards.
That is the view of Dr Mike Loosemore, the doctor for the British boxing team and a leading member of the medical team at the London Olympics.
