Mark Nicholl must think it’s Christmas already!
The City of Derry Head Coach has watched promising campaigns consistently curtailed around the festive season by crippling injury lists and player unavailability. It’s an annual hazard of the job but one Nicholl has coped admirably with since succeeding Bevan Lynch.
What he won’t have experienced though is facing INTO an AIL campaign with a playing squad that has dwindled from a healthy 35-40 players last season to a critical 23 or 24 over the close season.
