On Saturday evening Ballymoney RFC Youth Rugby held their annual Youth Dinner and Awards Evening, in the Clubrooms. A welcome bonus this year was the attendance of the girls’ Under 17s rugby team, who have just completed their first year of competitive rugby and excelled themselves by winning the Ulster Youth Championship Shield.
The guest speaker on this occasion was Stacey Lee Kennedy, Ulster Ladies Captain and Irish International Player. Also attending were Club Chairman, Gordon McCandless, Club Secretary, John Hunter and Youth Rugby sponsors.
Stacey presented the Girls’ Under 17s with their Ulster Youth Championship Shield and the following Youth players awards:-
Coaches’ Player of the Year:-
Girls U17s- Emma Orr, Boys U17s- Ben Graham, Boys U15s- Graham Donnelly, Boys U13s-Jamie McIntyre.
Players’ Player of the Year:-
Girls U17s- Annah Walker, Boys U17s- Gary Pattison, Boys U15s- Adam Coulter, Boys U13s-Lewis Lyons
Youth Rugby Endeavour Award:-
Girls U17s- Bethany Rollinson, Boys U17s- Matthew Johnston, Boys U15s- James Orr, Boys U13s-Callum Coyles
