Queen’s University and Ballynahinch will contest the First Trust Senior Cup Final at Ravenhill on Wednesday (11th December, 7.30pm kick off).
Queen’s have enjoyed relatively straightforward progress to the semi-finals, scoring 92 points as they defeated Belfast Harlequins 31-13 before blitzing Ards 61-11.
The students also had home advantage for their last four clash with fellow Ulster bank league Division 2A side Banbridge. They trailed 5-7 to Bann at half time but eventually registered a 21-7 success. Michael McCauley and Robert Whitten scored the tries, while Ritchie McMaster had a successful day with the boot, landing 11 points.
Ballynahinch had a bye in round one so their first action came in the quarter finals against Malone, when they scraped a 26-24 win at home to Malone. They were also made to work hard last time out when they sealed their final spot with a 15-23 success at City of Derry.
