Fogarty to Join Ireland?
The world of rugby is an ever-changing kaleidoscope of transfers, new job offers, and promotions. When you’re not one of the players, you’ve got a lot of options available to you in regards to what you do and where you go. The scrum coach John Fogarty, his chance to join Ireland’s rugby team has arrived, as Bets.co.nz has witnessed along with many others.
Leinster rugby club is the former stomping ground for Fogarty, but he feels that it’s time to move on and embrace a new challenge, saying that “I’ve enjoyed my time in Leinster Rugby. Working with some of the players from a young age and seeing them grow into senior players with Leinster and for some, with Ireland, has been brilliant… To get the chance to now develop that further with all four academies and to work with Andy Farrell and the rest of the Ireland set up is something that I’m very much looking forward to. I wouldn’t have had this chance though if Leinster Rugby and Leo Cullen hadn’t given me the opportunity to work with the Leinster senior team. I am very grateful for that opportunity. I’ll miss what we have built here at Leinster but I am equally excited by what lies ahead.”
There is no doubt that his colleagues at Leinster rugby will miss Fogarty, but everyone knows that change is an inevitable part of life, and we should celebrate people’s progression to new challenges and a different part of their life. There is also no doubt that Fogarty will experience a whole new set of challenges in his capacity as the National Academy forwards coach.
He’ll be helping to develop the next generation of coaches for Ireland, as well as holding specialised clinics within the national talent squad, working with players, coaches, and managers. While the prospect of taking over such responsibilities can be daunting to some, Fogarty is more than capable of making sure that everything works out just fine, and the Irish boys do well in their matches. After all, if he were not uniquely qualified for the position, as well as being unwavering in his resolution to get the job done, they wouldn’t have picked him for the post.
Naturally, how many people are very excited to see exactly how this will affect the performance of the teams, as both his new posting and his old employment will be experiencing change. Altering the formula-fed any sporting club brings an element of risk, so it’ll be interesting to see how the players and the other coaches fare under his tutelage. We want to take this moment to wish him well and express our hope that all clubs involved will be able to get back into a regular routine quickly, and adapt these new circumstances and rise to even greater heights. After all, there is still a lot of exciting games to be played, and a reputation that hangs in the balance of how well these teams do.
