A huge well done to all the girls from Ballymoney, Ballynahinch, Bangor, and Malone, who took part in today’s rugby blitz tournament, hosted by Bangor R.F.C.

It was good to see so many young girls there, giving it their all, and putting on a display of entertaining rugby.

Although some of the girls were reasonably new to the sport, and have a way to go in terms of their knowledge of the laws and playing of the game, a great effort was made by each and every one of them.

I hope today’s experience encourages them to continue in the sport and hopefully sees some of them come to fruition in years to come.

Congratulations to one and all.

Ballymoney Ladies Rugby would like to thank everyone involved with today’s blitz, with a special mention to David Coey of Bangor R.F.C. for helping to arrange the tournament and today’s official for refereeing and the way he helped the teams understand the laws and decisions he made.

Oh, yes, one more special mention: Thanks to Johnny from Malone RFC Women’s Team for ‘volunteering’ to be the TOON Towel today!!
