Our first ever League Match against Dungannon was played under floodlights at Stevenson Park on Wednesday night (9th).

Many of our Players stepped up to the mark and played out of position, so that we could fulfil the fixture and compete in such a League. It was a grand night conditions wise and we played on the No.1 Pitch.
From the start the home side were the strongest. The Tyrone side were well drilled and organised and we found ourselves 21 – 0 down, with 20 mins gone. Gannon dominated the lineout (with their size) and set up pacy backs who caused us no end of trouble. By half time the defecit was 31 – 0.
We did not give up and in the second half staged a real fight back. Angus Wilson scored an ace of an intercept then ,leading by example, our Skipper Josh Barr, stormed over. With less than a minute to go Dungannon replied with a solo effort by their 13 . The final score was 31 – 10.
We were not downhearted as many of the opposition are involved in the Ulster Clubs RDS and a few actually played first/second 15 Rugby. If they can travel and replicate Dungannon should do well. Their hospitality was second to none (‘Thanks’, Richard Bell) We, at Deramore, will continue to develop and will not fear facing anybody, anywhere. Well done !
