Dungannon Rugby Club will be holding a fun day on Saturday 3rd August at Stevenson Park at 12 Noon. Activities for the whole family to enjoy will include a bouncy castle, pony trekking, assault course, skill based games, tug of war and much more. There will also be a barbecue and plenty of ice cream for the kids.
In conjunction with this event the Youth section of the club will be hosting an Open Day to re-launch themselves under their new brand the ‘Blue Bulls’. Coaches will be in attendance to provide information, organise games and sign up new recruits for the 2013/14 season which commences in September. Ulster and Irish rugby players will also be on hand to pass on a few tips to the next generation of budding Dungannon players as well as to sign autographs and have photos taken.
The Stevenson Sharks team for kids with special needs will also feature on the day. The squad, who have been going from strength to strength during the year, will be playing games against visiting players.
Paul Magee, President of Dungannon said “The club is very keen to be inclusive to the whole community in both sporting fixtures and events held at Stevenson Park. The family fun day provides a great opportunity for everyone to come down to enjoy the entertainment being laid on and some great hospitality. Two very important sections of our club will also be running open days to coincide with the fun day. The Youth teams are in recruitment mode for next season and we hope to see many aspiring players from 11 to 18 years old join us on the day for coaching clinics and skill games. Our Stevenson Sharks team for kids with special needs will also be putting into action all their hard work during last season by playing a game. We believe that there will be something for everyone and I look forward to welcoming everyone on the day.”
