HSBC Legends of the Lions Lunch and Dinner Series
To mark the countdown to The British & Irish Lions’ 125th anniversary Tour to Australia this summer, The Lions have launched a series of pre-Tour lunch and dinners to celebrate their history. These unique events will present fans with the ultimate opportunity to mingle with legendary British & Irish Lions and truly understand what it means to be part of The Lions.
The themed HSBC Legend of the Lions Series will see great names from Lions history come together including Jeremy Guscott, Gareth Edwards, Gavin Hastings and Fergus Slattery, as well as 2013 coach, Warren Gatland and Tour manager, Andy Irvine.
There will be five lunches/dinners taking place from 15 February to 3 May 2013 in London, Cardiff, Dublin and Edinburgh. Starting from £195 per person (plus VAT), all events involve a wine reception, three course meal, legendary Lions speakers and an auction in aid of The Lions Charitable Trust. Guests will also be able to vote for their 10 favourite Lions and the final 10 with the most votes will then be invited to attend a finale dinner in London on 3 May.
Legends of the Lions Dinners:
· 15 February 2013 – Vinopolis, London: from £225 per person + VAT. Guests will include Will Greenwood, Jeremy Guscott, Andy Irvine and Warren Gatland
· 15 March 2013 – Cardiff City Hall, Cardiff: from £195 per person + VAT. Guest will include Scott Quinnell, Gareth Edwards, Gerald Davies, Andy Irvine and Warren Gatland
· 21 March 2013 – The Mansion House, Dublin: dinner at The Round Room (adjacent to The Mansion House), from €195 per person + VAT. Guest will include Fergus Slattery, Donal Lenihan, Andy Irvine and Warren Gatland
· 18 April 2013 – Sheraton Grand, Edinburgh: dinner at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Edinburgh, from £195 per person + VAT – for this event, Lions Rugby Travel has partnered with Gavin Hastings so that the dinner will also be in aid of the Parkinson’s charity
· 3 May 2013 – The Brewery, London: finale lunch at The Brewery, London, from £245 per person + VAT. Guest will include Gareth Edwards, Andy Irvine and Warren Gatland.
There is the option to upgrade the package, whereby guests can be joined by a Lions Legend during the meal. The HSBC Legends of the Lions Lunch & Dinner Series will be in aid of The Lions Charitable Trust. Founded in 2002, this is the Official Charitable Trust of the British & Irish Lions with the aim to assist with community projects in the countries visited by the Lions and to help former Lions players develop the game as a whole.
