Guests enjoyed a warm reception with drinks and canapes and were invited to view the workshop were the technicians had demonstrations of some of Audis latest technology and winter tyre (and wheel sets).
There was a keen interest in the Audi Cam system, where customers receive a video clip to their home or office, with the facility to view and listen to the technician working on their car. If a specific fault is shown the customer can actually authorise the repair in a similar way to an internet “shopping basket” purchase. This visual and personalised sustem is another aspect of the experience of Audi ownership.
The car arrived for all to view after a short video presentation of Vorsprung durch technik Philip Smith, Sales manager commented on the A3 Sportback, as with the new 3-door, has an interior that looks and feels as luxurious as other, larger family cars. Aside from the extra space, details such as the sculpted in lays and stylish instrument cluster make the driver and their passengers feel special. Driver assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control and lane change assist – which are more likely to be seen on executive saloons – add to the luxurious feel.
The new A3 Sportback is up to 90kg lighter than the previous model, mostly because of the new steel and aluminium body construction. The aluminium bonnet, wings, profile behind the front bumper and front axle load distribution. Prices for the A3 Sportback start at £19,825, with a £620 premium over each equivalent A3 3-door.
A pre-order incentive offers customers a free upgrade to the SD card-based navigation system (worth £495) if they order their new A3 Sportback before the end of February 2013. Please contact a member of the sales team on 028 38333633 to arrange an appointment
