Ballyshannon senior men had another good win on the road on Saturday last when they defeated Clogher Valley (Fivemiletown) 36-12 with tries coming from captain Mark Rooney(2) Darragh Tyrell, Dara Keown and Dominic Gillespie. This Saturday we are at home to Armagh with a 2.30pm kick off at the Lakeside Centre and it would be great to see local support to cheer the boys on!
Mini Rugby continues on Saturday mornings at 10am and is open to 6 to 12 year olds both boys and girls. Those who have not payed their membership or completed their registration must do this Saturday and must be done through Catherine Mc Cauley.
The youths travelled to Inishowen rugby club on Saturday and were shy quite alot of numbers in the under 13 group but still competed in a mixed friendly with the home side and done very well. The under 15’s competed in a 15 against 13 a side ( apparently Inishowen thought this was just and fair) however despite playing with two men less put in a fabulous performance and were narrowly beaten by 5 points and will look to build on this performance this Saturday when they are at home to Tir Conaill RFC. The under 13’s we understand are away to Enniskillen and all fixtures should be confirmed with Shane Roper at training on Thursday at 7pm.
So we are urgently appealing for more players for our under 13 age group, if you are 12 or have turned 13 after the 31st of June this year then you are eligible to play, if you are from the Ballyshannon, Bundoran, Belleek, Garrison, Kinlugh or Tullaghan areas then we would be delighted to welcome you to the Lakeside centre to training on Thursday at 7pm. Also we are looking for more coaches for our youth section so if you are a past member or interested in getting involved for the first time or changing clubs just contact us through our facebook page CLICK HERE
