The family behind the award-winning Russell Smith Farms has entered into the snacking category with the launch of SAVOURSMITHS (www.SAVOURSMITHS.com): an audaciously luxurious crisp brand made with potatoes harvested from their own British farm in Cambridgeshire.
SAVOURSMITHS elevates the traditional snack through an epicurean breed of exceptionally indulgent, skin-on potato crisps in unashamedly flamboyant flavours.
Obsessive about the best ingredients and farming methods, the brand promises a healthier product of superb quality. Every crisp is cut from the family’s home-grown British potatoes and hand-cooked in small batches. The whole range uses all natural ingredients and flavourings and is free from gluten and MSG. The SAVOURSMITHS love all natural products with nothing artificial. The skin is also kept on to retain important nutrients.
The range is available in four unique editions, each one created with decadent ingredients from across the globe, including wagyu beef, champagne, truffle and port, embracing new and exciting taste horizons:
• Champers & Serrano Chilli: The crisp bubble of Champagne is accented with a touch of sea salt and a warming kick of Mexican mountain pepper Serrano chilli
• Truffle & Rosemary: fresh sprigs of fragrant rosemary is combined with the wild, earthy decadent depth of black truffle with to create a unique snacking experience
• Parmesan & Port: The mellow, smooth sweetness of port cuts through rich parmesan cheese for the ultimate after-dinner snack
• Wagyu Beef with Honey & Mustard: This famously decadent Japanese beef known for its eye-watering price tag and unparalleled marbled texture and taste is complemented with the sweet bite of honey and mustard
The brand was founded by recently married couple and Colette and Mike Russell Smith, who moved back to the family farm and is now taking the business in a modern direction.
Mike’s pioneering farming heritage combines with Colette’s cutting-edge international modelling background and the pair’s love of the British countryside. In SAVOURSMITHS they have created a compelling brand, which urges consumers to put down the plain pack of potatoes, slip into something stylish and indulge in a better class of crisp.
Mike and Colette Russell Smith, SAVOURSMITHS co-founders say: “This is an exciting new venture for us, and will build on the success and heritage of Russell Smith Farms. With the launch of SAVOURSMITHS, we are bringing something original, fun and exciting to the UK snack market. Our philosophy is to give people a better option than what they are currently getting. We believe in using only the best and most healthy ingredients to make our indulgent crisps.
“SAVOURSMITHS meets consumer demand by introducing an innovative and epicurean offering that is produced with the very finest ingredients – potatoes harvested at the family farm, alongside luxurious and all-natural international ingredients.”
The Russell Smith family has been farming potatoes since 1938 and understands the importance of traceability and sustainability, using accredited farming methods and championing sustainable agriculture to ensure culinary excellence.
The family farm is a member of FWAG, LEAF & the Soil Association and is signed up to the Government’s stewardship schemes. SAVOURSMITHS is also a member of LEAF.
