22 ultimate psychology traits for extreme business success
The Steve Jobs types of this world possess a bunch of psychological traits, which they have in common, no matter where they were born or what types of family backgrounds they came from. We’ve scoured some of the best publications on this subject for you, including the likes of Time Magazine, to bring you this quick yet must-read feature, for all of you budding entrepreneurs and business people.
The qualities themselves are fascinating for anyone who is striving for extreme business success. But not only this….they are not only found in those who came from wealthy or entrepreneurial families, but also in massively successful people, who came from poor backgrounds.
A couple of examples of billionaires that started out life, as what we might politely call disadvantaged are:
Oprah Winfrey – who was born into poverty in Mississippi.

Starbucks’ Howard Schultz – he was raised in a housing complex for the poor.
Ray-Ban and Oakley owner, Leonardo Del Vecchio – his widowed Mother was unable to take care of him, so he grew up in an orphanage
So regardless of your current circumstances and background, extreme business success is not beyond your grasp.
Let’s see if you resonate with these 23 ultimate psychology traits for extreme business success.
1. You are more concerned with achieving success rather than trying to avoid failure
2. You don’t see the world as either good or bad, but more so neutral
3. You don’t doubt your own ability to hold your own in your chosen marketplace
4. You are easily bored by routine
5. You enjoy the challenge of taking risks
6. You tend to be a generalist rather than a specialist – so you’re good at many things
7. You’re probably outrageously self-confident
8. However ….you can be disagreeable – but that is mostly because you don’t worry much about what others think of you according to Malcolm Gladwell in his book “David and Goliath”
9. You’re conscientious
10. You love a challenge
11. You’re able to visualise the business you are creating as it will be in the future
12. In fact people may even consider you to be visionary
13. You have the ability to sense new opportunities and markets, and therefore innovate
14. You’re able to build momentum and motivate yourself and others
15. You choose how you think, which helps you to adapt decisions to minimise risks
16. You can see and provide others with clear instructions and goals
17. You’re a natural in cognitive psychology, even though you may not realise it! As defined by Fast Company:
‘a cognitive psychologist is a cartographer of the human mind who maps how people perceive and observe, think and reason, act and react.’
18. You’re a passionate workaholic
19. You may already have experienced a number of hard boom-to-bust lessons (most entrepreneurs have)
20. You could have been through a good few trial-and-error phases
21. However you still know where you are going, this is because you began with the end in mind
22. You have or are getting the tools you need for success – as you know what you need to learn to achieve your vision
If many of these traits resonate with you, there’s a good chance that you are already on the road to success – because you are doing the work that’s necessary to get there – along with the gift of these psychological traits – which you have in common with a number of famous millionaires and billionaires.
A British success story
In addition to these 22 tips that we brought you, researched from great sources such as Time Magazine, we also interviewed Mr. Mark Guirard – a great example of a highly successful British entrepreneur. Guirard, just like the examples mentioned at the beginning of this feature, was not born with the silver spoon in his mouth.
He set up his brand Lewis in 2005 and has achieved extreme business success. Lewis is a British manufacturer of top quality access equipment for both trade and DIY users. You can read more about that below.
Here are Mark Guirard’s excellent top 3 tips:
1. Treat business as a challenge:
I always treat business as a challenge rather than a means to money. I’ll explain. Focusing on challenges daily means whatever you’re trying to achieve remains the main focus and we all know what results come from focusing (higher success rate of achievement).
2. Honesty is key:
Honesty is key. In business do as you say and say as you do, but be honest, people can smell bull S__t a mile off….honesty carries a lot of weight for lasting relationships with customers/suppliers which is key in any business.
3. Keep the passion:
And finally I would say the obvious thing, PASSION 😊 One must have passion for what they do. Without passion you become a worker for money, Jobs Worth, and we know what those type of people are: less helpful, less energised and pretty much useless. Keep the passion!
About Lewis
The Lewis brand was named after the MD, Mark’s son, Lewis. This British brand and manufacturer is very much a family affair, that you can trust, just like Rihanna has. The company was originally founded in 2005 as a small family business, but it has grown to become one of the UK’s leading online DIY, trade ladder and access equipment supplier.
The Lewis mission is to offer superb quality for outstanding value, while maintaining their inherent, family-owned, small company values. Safety and strength are top priorities across all of their products.
This year Mark has invested substantially in machinery and other aspects of the business. You can check the range of top quality British made scaffold towers at http://scaffold-tower.co.uk/
