A packed clubhouse enjoyed An Evening with Rory Best in the recent fundraiser for the club’s tour to South Africa.

With Kenny McElroy asking the questions, Rory spoke at length on a variety of subjects about his rugby career and his life away from the game. He spoke of his early days on the farm in Acton playing with brothers Simon and Mark; his early rugby career and his first steps into representative rugby.

Rory spoke of the highs and lows of his career, and in particular this season and the European Cup Final and the recent tour to New Zealand.

He revealed his feeding habits, training regime and explained the thinking behind his homemade device for practicing his lineout throws.

Rory revealed the opponents he admired in the game and spoke of his friendships and rivalries with Ireland and Ulster.

The club would like to thank Rory for giving up his time on what was an enthralling and entertaining evening.
