Donegal RFC U15s – 0 Carrickfergus RFC U15s – 89

Given the long journey to Donegal, positional & personnel changes & a less that perfect playing surface this was an exceptional score line in Carrick U15s quest for cup qualification.
“Bus legs” were the order of the day both during the warm up & opening minutes of the game with Carrick trying to shake off the lethargy often associated with these games.
However when they did hit form it was a performance that crushed the life out of a game but off the pace Donegal XV.
Scrum domination was the order of the day once again even though there were several variations of the engagement process that could have led to frustration, the lineout was also fruitful but it was at the contact zone that Carrick ruled the roost recycling ball time & time again for a rampant backline.
On a day made for using the replacements panel “Eddie O” shook off the shackles & signalled a raft of changes from half time onwards giving all of the bench game time.
With Carrick 41 nil ahead at this stage a completely changed XV notched up another 48 points before full time.
Stand out performances from the usual suspects was augmented by first class input from Aaron Rea , Jordan Devenney , Jamie McCracken & Owen Hunter.
Rory Magill once again made a strong impact statement & was strongly supported by Ian Kerr & Sam McMurtry in the pack & Andrew Campbell & Matthew Best in the backs.
