Around 50 players turned up for the inaugural event arranged by Rab Williams and were keen to get playing, 4 teams looking forward to playing some rugby after a few months break but the hunger and aggression was still there. Nobody was giving an inch and the games were tight and hard fought. Intricate pieces of skill were countered by some ferocious tackles and rucking but the games were all played in the right humour, aided by the relaxed attitude of the ref and line judges. In the end it was Carrick representatives who came through but everyone agreed the afternoon had been well spent and around £250 had been raised for the Hospice, a fun afternoon for all with music and food and certainly enjoyed by all who attended.
