A cold morning saw the start of Derry’s fourth match of the season, the conditions proving treacherous within the opening minutes as a few dropped balls from Derry’s attack saw Newry with early possession. Great work at the breakdown however from Harry O’Neill and Jamie Wilson led to many turnovers in Derry’s favour. Quick ball to the back line quickly saw Shane Beattie score on the wing.
