Designer of the 2014 Silhouette Futura sunglasses, Gerhard Fuchs, highlights the design objective of the innovative frames – ultramodern, sleek frames with extreme lightness – by saying: “The original model was made of stiff, heavy acetate. Today’s technology allows us to pair a modern look with optimum wearing comfort”. The essential ‘comfort’ factor was achieved through the use of SPX+ material to deliver elasticity and remove the need for hinges or screws on the frame. Fuchs continues that the technology behind Silhouette Futura works to exaggerate the futuristic design, where the frames appear to hover on the face and deliver cool-flexibility with up-to-the-minute fashion appeal.
