13 March 2013 marked the 100 days to go milestone before the first Test of The Lions Tour to Australia which is played in Brisbane on Saturday 22 June 2013.
To mark the occasion Lions Rugby Travel has announced an exclusive ‘Eve of Test Match Gala Dinner’ with Head Coach, Warren Gatland and his coaching team that will take place on Friday 28 June 2013, ahead of the second Test match in Melbourne. This is the first time a Lions coach has hosted an official dinner during the Tour and will give fans an incredible insight behind the scenes with The Lions.
Held at Atlantic Wharf (opposite the Etihad Stadium), Melbourne, the dinner will be co-hosted by former Lions scrum-half and renowned compere, Andy Nicol. Warren Gatland and his fellow coaches, Graham Rowntree, Rob Howley and Andy Farrell will all be present to share their thoughts on the Tour so far and their predictions ahead of the second Test. Tour Manager, Andy Irvine and iconic former Australian captain, John Eales, will also be in attendance.
Tickets for this historic event will be available to all Lions fans from £249 per person. Fans travelling with Lions Rugby Travel will also receive a special £50 discount on the RRP. The Eve of Test match package includes a champagne reception, complimentary bar (beer, wine and soft drinks) and a luxurious three-course meal.
The dinner will not only allow fans to soak up the pre-match atmosphere prior to the second Test, but will present the opportunity to listen to the Lions Legends as they reminisce over their favourite ever Tour memories.
