Canada and Australia secure Olympic spots as New Zealand win women’s series <\/h1>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

A thrilling day of action in Amsterdam has seen Canada and Australia qualify for next year\u2019s Olympic Games and New Zealand claim the Women\u2019s Sevens Series for the third year in a row.It’s still all to play for in Amsterdam on Saturday, as USA, France and England are all in with a chance of securing a spot at Rio 2016.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s quarter-finals will see Australia play Russia, England face a massive battle for the last Olympic position as they play New Zealand, the in-form USA take on Spain and Canada will play France.<\/p>\n

Speaking after securing the third Olympic spot from the series, Canadian captain Jen Kish said: “It’s been hard work and a long process for us. To finally get to Rio and have our dreams become a reality is amazing. We’re going for a strong day two as we want to leave Amsterdam, not only going to Rio, but with the cup as well,” she added.<\/p>\n

Australian captain Sharni Williams was delighted to finally reach a goal that was set out at the start of the season: “It’s been a long time coming…but the job is not done yet because we’re here for the tournament and to get into the finals.”<\/p>\n

New Zealand had already booked their place in the Olympics, when they qualified at the London 7s last weekend.<\/p>\n

The quarter-finals get underway at the NRCA Stadium on Saturday at 10am (GMT +2). Tickets for the tournament are still available and can be accessed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
