Our thanks to the U10 coaches Harry, Niall and John who coordinated the blitz and to the parents of the U10 players who supported the event managing the car parks and providing the post blitz food and beverages in the IWCA facilities.

U 8s. The u8’s rugby team took on Creggs on Saturday morning and had a fantastic competition. The raw talent and youthful enthusiasm in the u8’s is utterly infectious and the energy generated by the Carrick team was well reflected in the lads from Creggs. Watching the game it is clear from the healthy numbers playing and understanding the game that the future of the game is in good health. One Creggs lad was quoted as saying “I can’t wait to come back”. A great day and a great bunch of lads.

U9s. Another outstanding performance by the Under 9s who took on a strong Creggs team. While the team started slowly in chilly conditions, they soon spiced things up with a scintillating mix of red hot rucking, tenacious tackling, fluid passing movements and line breaks that would put the All Blacks to the sword. Well done to all.

U10 team played a very strong Creggs team today. After a slow start in the first half Carrick were much improved in the second half. The team put in a great effort to get back into the game, but unfortunately time was against them as they tried to draw level at the end of the game.

U11. The Carrick U11’s turned out in force to take on a determined Creggs team noted for their rucking and mauling ability. Proud parents from both sides were provided with over an hour of entertaining rugby with both teams mixing their play to gain every advantage over their opponents. Well done to all players for an excellent display of skill, passion and above all sportsmanship.
U12 team played against a strong Creggs team today, however a strong Carrick team never gave up and took on Creggs at every encounter. Every member of the squad played well today with a good few outstanding performances. We are very proud of the U12’s display today with every player showing great commitment and improvement. However at U12 level we need the full squad at training to work on our set plays.
