Players and directors of rugby at England’s leading clubs face fines and potential suspensions if they fail to adhere to an unprecedented initiative to improve the safety of players who suffer from concussion in the sport.
More than 1,500 players, coaches and referees from the Premiership and Championship clubs, as well as all those involved with the England men’s and women’s sides, will be asked on Thursday to complete a mandatory online concussion awareness module within eight weeks or face a fine and then suspension.
“There will be a process of fining in place for non-completion,” Corin Palmer, Premier Rugby head of operations, said. “That will take the form of an individual fine in the first instance. Then after 14 days if it is still not completed the fine will be doubled. Then the right to coach, play or indeed officiate will be taken away from that individual until they have completed it.”……. see more at :- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/news/11165957/Tough-new-measures-on-concussion-cases-introduced-in-England-in-campaign-to-improve-player-safety.html
