Rugby Sisters – Ireland is a Sporting Nation for Men and Women

Fear of judgement is stopping many women from taking part in exercise; but as thousands of women up and down the country are proving, it really does not have to. Women’s Sports Journal set out to inspire women to move and prove that judgement is a barrier that can be overcome. Two teenage girls clarify the importance of doing what makes you happy, setting yourself challenges and being true to yourself by playing a sport you love and not a sport you are subjected to.

Many female rugby players have one thing in common they could basically talk for hours about their love for the sport, the stereotypes it brings and the challenges it helps them overcome: one strange fact about Caoimhe Harte (17) however, is that she got interested in playing rugby through her grandmother who was born and raised in New Zealand saying “I feel as if rugby is in my blood.”
