Over 2 million tickets sold for Rugby World Cup 2015
Over 2 million tickets have now been sold for Rugby World Cup 2015 as enthusiasm for the Tournament continues to grow ahead of, what could be, the biggest ever Rugby World Cup to date.
The 2 million sales milestone was reached as a further 100,000 tickets went on general sale yesterday (May 28) via tickets.rugbyworldcup.com.
With a total of 2.3 million tickets available for the 48 matches in 13 venues during the Tournament, sales so far include tickets sold through the Rugby Community Sale, general sale, the official Rugby Travel and Hospitality programmes and the Rugby World Cup Limited commercial programme.
Managing Director of England Rugby 2015, Stephen Brown, said: “We are delighted to see such enthusiasm for Rugby World Cup 2015, reaching 2 million ticket sales with four months still to go. The excitement ahead of the Tournament is clear both here in the UK and globally with over 400,000 fans expected to travel to England and Cardiff for Rugby World Cup 2015. Ticket sales yesterday highlighted that there is a real appetite for matches across all our host cities and with further tickets set to come back on sale next month we look forward to what promises to be a real celebration of Rugby.”

Samoa v Scotland at St James Park on Saturday October 10
Fiji v Uruguay at Stadium MK on Tuesday October 6
France v Canada at Stadium MK on Thursday October 1
Samoa v Japan at Stadium MK on Saturday October 3
Italy v Canada at Elland Road on Saturday September 26
Winner of Pool C v Runner up of Pool D Quarter Final at Millennium Stadium on Saturday 17 October
Winner of Pool D v Runner up of Pool C Quarter Final at Millennium Stadium on Sunday 18 October
Further tickets, which are a mixture of handbacks from the Rugby World Cup Limited commercial programme, further seats following venue configuration and tickets that have been registered through the Official Rugby World Cup 2015 Resale Programme, will go on general sale over the coming months via tickets.rugbyworldcup.com.
The official ticket resale service is available via tickets.rugbyworldcup.com and provides support to fans who wish to sell tickets for matches they can no longer attend. Fans should only buy tickets from official sources to ensure their ticket is valid for entry at Rugby World Cup 2015 matches.
