As the GUINNESS PRO12 takes a break, attention turns to the European Challenge Cup competition and the arrival of Aviva Premiership side Exeter Chiefs to the Sportsground on Sunday January 18th (kick off 3:15pm).
Despite Connacht’s disappointing 13-16 defeat to Edinburgh on Friday night, the province remain in sixth place on the league table. The bruising round 13 encounter in difficult conditions did leave a few players nursing minor bumps and bruises but the most notable casualty was centre Bundee Aki who injured his ankle around the 76th minute at the Sportsground. The 24-year-old New Zealander is scheduled to undergo an MRI for further investigation today (Monday) of which the results will be communicated later in the week.
In better news, versatile back Craig Ronaldson has completed the return-to-play protocols for concussion and has been cleared for full training. After missing out against Edinburgh, the 24-year-old is expected to be available for selection this week.
Tickets for Connacht v Exeter (kick off 3:15pm) are now available to purchase from tickets.ie, the Connacht Rugby office in Galway and Centra and SuperValu stores province-wide.
