preview
A packed weekend of action across Connacht in a week where player welfare, injuries and playing schedules has dominated international rugby media. More must be done by administrators to educate and provide medical knowledge and technology such as defribulators to every club in Connacht period!
With no provincial games on this weekend we would encourage fans to attend local clubs where the development of the game is increasing through the work of volunteers and families.

The Galwegians v Corinthians game is being played under lights on Fri 7th Nov – We await the result eagerly!

In division J1A Connemara, Monivea and Corinthians occupy the top 3 positions in the league after 7 games, but the top 5 teams could all still realistically be in the running for league honours this season, OLBC are yet to register a win it is a difficult season for them but they will undoubtedly pose a threat to teams in the next series of games only OLBC and Galwegians have conceded 160+ points, if OLBC can hold that defence for a little longer this win could be on the horizon.

In Division J1B, Buccaneers, Loughrea and Castlebar occupy the top 3 positions in the league but Loughrea have a game in hand! Again as in J1A 5 teams are realsitically still in the running for league honours, Corrib and Creggs are both at the bottom of the table but both have 1 win, anything can happen at the top and bottom of these leagues but the battle at the end of this season to avoid relegation could be the stuff of legend!

In Div J1C Sligo Nuig and Dunmore are in the top 3 positions but both Sligo and Dunmore have a game in had with 6 played compared to Nuig with 7 played and yet its Sligo at the top, can anything stop the entire Sligo rugby club at the moment! At the bottom of the table Ballina have yet to win a game with the next placed team Galwegians on 2 wins! Can Ballina put together that sequence of play to break the back on this and get a win! This league is frankly wide open, 5 out of the 6 teams are still in the running!

In the J2 League Tuam and Corinthians lead J2 with 12 points each. However a max of 3 games have been played by some teams while at least one team has not played yet. Its a big league there are 13 teams in this and someone is potentially going to emerge from mid table and start beating teams. Tuam and Corinthians are strong but there are a good lot of games to be played here. At the moment anything could happen!

In the womens development league, after 3 games each Buccaneers women are at the top with 16 points, Castlebar and Nuig are on 13 and 10 points while Tuam are on 3 points. Tuam women have had a very difficult first 3 games, this is serious rugby and their opposition are not about to let off any weaknesses and will score at every opportunity, with Connacht womens rugby in the top 2 in Ireland more or less, there are Ireland and provincial jerseys at stake here. But Tuam are building. This is competitive, can;t wait to see the scores from this weekends games!
