Worthy Warriors win again!!!
Canterbury Warriors dominate in slippery conditions against a forceful Cavan side winning 26 – 0 on their home ground in Longford RFC on Friday 5/09/2014. The Warriors preserved their unbeaten record so far this season and displayed an outstanding team performance for the crowd of spectators who travelled to see the game. From the very beginning the Warriors meant business when Marie Clerkin kicked the ball deep in to the Cavan sides 22, this was then followed by a chase from the keen back line. The physical Cavan side tried endlessly to make breaks down the wings but Maria McGinley and Miriam Gonzalo put a stop to their efforts every time with some great tackles. Speedy Sharon Treacy made some great ground and the forwards worked like the warriors they are to clear out the rucks. Nuala Mcgoey, Catriona Kielty and Emma Mulvey’s rucking was impeccable providing clean ball for the quick and eager scrum half Marie Clerkin.
