Buccaneers Tag Rugby is back for 2015 and it promises to be another super event this year!!!
Tag will be starting on Thursday 21st of May until Friday 17th July. The tournament will run every Thursday evening with the exception of 2 Friday nights – Friday 12th June and Finals Night Friday 17th July.
Thursday 21st of July will no longer be a friendly’s night, it will be rounds of qualifiers. This will help us to gauge which division each team is best suited.
It is €350 to enter a team of 13 people @ €27 per person.
You must be over 16yrs to enter and any Under 18’s entering the competition will need parental consent.
Due to the success of the entertainment in pubs around Athlone over the last few years, we will be enlisting pubs to run after party nights for you all again, so there will be plenty of banter for everyone throughout the tournament.
If any of your teams would like a new set of jerseys this year, let us know asap. We are going to provide 8 teams with jerseys kindly sponsored by a local businesses. The jerseys will be great quality Tech t-shirts and will be from neon to primary colours with 8 to choose from. We are also going to be selling our new great quality TAG SHORTS which we will have in stock next week. For H & S reasons, tag belts are no longer permitted for use during the competition games.
Also, The green area at the Bounty carpark and one of the side pitch can be used on Tuesdays for teams to train on.
Registration is now open, so please pm with your team name, captain name and contact number. All teams must be registered and payed up in full before tag season starts this year.
It is important to note that the Entry Fee grants temporary membership covering insurance for the duration of the tounament, this applies only to serious injury i.e. loss of limb
